Daffodil (Narcissus) is a perennial plant that blooms profusely during the spring. This herbaceous plant grows from the bulb and brings slender leafs (which erects from the bulb). Plant uses to die after the blooming but the bulb remains dormant underground. It brings another fresh plant during next season.

Daffodil (Narcissus) flowers are slightly larger and yellow in color (can be seen in creamy, or mix with orange too). A single Daffodil flower usually grows from a single stalk. Flowers are hermaphroditic In Ireland the blooming starts during February to announce the arrival of spring. A flower has six petals (expert says tepals) and a tubular ring at the center. As the plant can grow together hence during blooming season it looks like a yellow carpet (when color is yellow).

Narcissus, Daffodil

The name Narcissus came from the Greek mythology where a beautiful boy was too proud of his beauty. Goddess Nemesis lured him near a pool and attracted him by his own beauty reflected in the pool. Later he was never able to leave the pool and died there.
