People may not know that tobacco comes from a plant. The botanical name of the plant is Nicotiana tabacum. It belongs to the plant family Solanaceae. This plant is native to sub tropical America. This plant was widely grown in America even before the discovery. But now a days it is cultivated all over the world. In Bangladesh it is known as Tamak.

Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) is an annual plant. It has large green leafs. initial leafs of the plant is larger compare to the later leafs. Flowers are pinkish in color. They bloom in a cluster. Each flower from the cluster is tubular in shape.

Almost every part of Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) is used, except the seeds. After processing the leafs the infamous tobacco is made which kills millions of people every year. But still people are using nicotine. It is not the plant's fault. It is the fault of people who are taking the plant in a wrong way.
