Dhunia Pata(ধনিয়া পাতা) is a culinary herb. Botanical name is Coriandrum sativum. It pertains to the plant family Apiaceae. In our country Bangladesh, we call this Dhunia, Dhuniya, Dhoina, Dhoniya, Dhoinna(ধইন্না), etc. Common name of this annual herb plant is cilantro, coriander, etc.
Plants are several inches tall and leafs are having various shapes. At initial stage, the leafs are broadly lobed shaped. But leafs are slender and feather like at the flowering stem of the same plant. Color of the flower is white but having pinkish/violet touch. Shape of the flower is interesting. At the cluster, a single flower is having the long petals at outer side, and small petal at inner side. Flowers has a fragrant similar to the plant.

This plant has lot of uses. We use this herb plant widely at culinary. Also the grind seeds are using as a spice. Farmers are cultivating this plant on a large scale in Bangladesh to fulfill the needs.
