Name of our today's flower is Desert rose. It is also known as Impala lily, Sabi star, etc. This plant is native to the Sahara region along with Eastern part of Africa, Arabia, etc. Botanical name of the flower is Adenium obesum. It belongs to the plant family Apocynaceae.
Desert rose (Adenium obesum) is a small growing evergreen plant. The plant is a succulent one with glossy long leafs. Leafs are spirally arranged around the steam. Long leafs are slightly narrow near the base and a bit wider at the tip. The base of the plant can be wider for which it makes an ideal subject for bonsai practicing. This plant grows very well under bright sun, and doesn't need that much attention.
Desert rose (Adenium obesum) flowers are strikingly beautiful due to its colour and shape. In recent days there are plenty of varieties found. But for most cases the colour of the flower is purple or pink (either dark or light). Shape of the flower is like a trumpet. Flowers are having five petals and bracts.
Photos of this Desert rose (Adenium obesum) were taken from Kolkata, India. It was my tour during September 2015. It was planted in a pot at the roof of a cheap hotel in Kolkata where I've stayed during my visit. It was a lovely sunny morning and the flowers were bright under the sky.
