Cornstalk dracaena is an extremely aromatic flowering plant that blooms during night with all of its scent. It is also known as Happy plant. Binomial name of this plant is Dracaena fragrans. It belongs to the plant family Asparagaceae. This plant is native to Africa.
Cornstalk dracaena (Dracaena fragrans) is a shrubby plant that can grow up to 15 meter in height. This is a slow growing plant with a single stem when young, but later branches. Leafs are corn like and glossy (that's why name Cornstalk). This plant is a nice choice for indoor plant as it can grow without much sunlight. It also doesn't require that much care.
Flowers bloom in a cluster from the pinnacle of the plant. Each of the small cluster from the whole looks like a ball. The outer side of the flowers are pinkish and the flower inside is white. Flower is having 6 petals usually. The filament of the flower is yellowish in color. Flower blooms during night and entertain the environment with its fragrance.
At the balcony of my office I've seen this plant everyday. But never knew it uses to bring such lovely flowers. At one evening the surrounding was really fragrant and was wondering what could do it. And later on found the plant bloomed with numerous flowers and they were the reason behind that.
