This plant is known as Bamboo orchid. It is native to the Eastern part of Asia, and later naturalised into the other tropical places like Fiji, West indies, Hawai. Binomial name of the plant is Arundina graminifolia, and it belongs to the plant family Orchidaceae.
Bamboo orchid (Arundina graminifolia) is a perennial plant. Its leafs are similar to bamboo. Each slender leafs are appearing alternately around the soft reed-like stem. Because of this feature this plant is known as Bamboo orchid. It can grow up to two meter in height.
Flowers of Bamboo orchid (Arundina graminifolia) are attractive pink and rosy colored. A small cluster of flower buds use to appear atop of the stem, and then keeps blooming one after another. Blooming season for this orchid is mainly Summer and Autumn.
