This plant is known as Prince's feather, Kiss me over the garden gate, etc. This plant belongs to the plant family Polygonaceae (buckwheat family). Botanical name is Polygonum orientale Linn. In Bangladesh this is known as Bish katali.
Prince's feather (Polygonum orientale Linn.) is an annual plant that grows up to 4/5 ft from ground. Leafs are a bit larger with lovely foliage. Basically two colours of flower are seen from this plant, purple and white. Only white one is widely seen in Bangladesh (didn't see purple). Flowers are like small beads as a cluster with pendulous shape at the pinnacle of the stem.
This shrubby Plant grows very quickly and produces lot of flowers. In Bangladesh this plant grows around the wet lands like bank of pond, canal etc. Also it is seen around the roadsides. This is considered as a weed (not invasive). Didn't see anyone using this as an ornamental plant. This plant has several medicinal uses as herbal medicine.
Photos of these Prince's feather (Polygonum orientale Linn.) were taken from near Sonargaon, during my tour at August 2011. In Bangla this is known as Bish Katali (বিষ কাটালি).
