মহাখালী ফ্লাইওভারের নীচে সামান্য সবুজ জায়গাতে মাঝে মাঝেই বর্ষার সময় এই ত্রিধারার ফুল দেখতে পেতাম... আগাছা জাতের এই গাছ আমরা সাধারণত এইরকম ফেলে দেয়া জায়গাতেই দেখি... ছোট, কিন্তু সুন্দর এই ফুল দেখতে যেমন আকর্ষনীয়, তেমনি ঔসধি গুনও কিন্তু অনেক... অনেকটা বিদেশী ডেইজি ফুলের মতন আকৃতির এই ফুলটা...
Our today's flower is Tridax Daisy Flower. This herb plant is from the Aster family Asteraceae. Botanical/Scientific name of the flower is Tridax procumbens. This plant is originally native to tropical America, but now this invasive weed is widely available at our country Bangladesh(বাংলাদেশ).
This annual(sometimes biennial) plant has several common names across the world. Coatbuttons, Tridax Daisy Flower, etc are in English. Tridhara(ত্রিধারা), Tridakkha(ত্রিদাক্ষা), etc are in our country. Flowers are small and having yellow at the middle, like other daisy type of flowers. It has five white, yellowish petals. Each of the petals are having three toothed at the edge. The seeds of this weed plant has hairy stuffs(similar to the feather of thistle flower seeds) those allow the seeds to travel over the air easily. Basically this is how it can travel farther for propagation.
There are lot of medicinal uses of this weed plant have found in the history of herbal medicine. People are using the extract of the leaves of this plant as antiseptic, antibiotic. Pundits are believing that this herb can be useful against the diabetic. You can read Wikipedia, or search at Google for further information about medicinal uses.
