This beautiful orange colored flowering plant belongs to the plant family Zingiberaceae (All kind of gingers are from this family). The genus of this plant is Globba (derived from the Indonesian word 'galoba'). The species name of the plant is schomburgkii. So the botanical name becomes Globba schomburgkii. Common name of the plant is Dancing girl ginger, Globba lily, Ginger lily.

Globba lily (Globba schomburgkii) is native to Eastern India, Bangladesh, Thiland, Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. Some people call this as Burmese Dancing Girl. In Bangladesh, this is known as 'Bhui Ada', 'Jongli Ada', 'Kondo pushpo', etc. This is a perennial plant and uses to remain dormant during the whole winter. But gets in life after the spring. Plant uses to propagate through the bulbs and sometimes through seeds, though it's hard to preserve the seeds.

Globba lily (Globba schomburgkii) is a harbaceous plant with alternately arranged broad leafs (plant can grow much taller). The plant produces a nice smell when crushed (similar to other ginger plants). Flowers use to bloom during the rainy season (In this article the flowers are about to bloom). Bright orange colored flowers bloom as a cluster and very much showy. Despite of growing in wild people now a days plant this in their garden for ornamental purpose.
