কন্টিকারি একটা আগাছা ঝোপঝাড়ের ফুল হলেও দেখতে অনেক সুন্দর... ছোট ছোট যে লাল লাল ফল হয় তা ছোট বেলায় অনেক খেয়েছি... তার পরও, এই গাছ ছোটবেলায় কখনই আমাদের প্রিয় ছিলনা... প্রথম কারণ, আমাদের ক্রিকেট খেলার বল এই ঝোপের মধ্যে একবার ঢুকলে বের করা কষ্ট ছিল... এর পরের কারণ হলো, খালি পায়ে ভুলেও এই ঝোপের পাশ দিয়ে হেটে গেলে রাত্রে মা'র কাছে পা নিয়ে যেতে হত সুই নিয়ে, কাটা বের করার জন্য...
Our today's flower is a beautiful weed flower known as Thorny Nightshade. This is widely found in our country, a thorny plant. We call this as Kontikari Ful(কন্টিকারি ফুল). Botanical name of this flower is Solanum surattense from the plant family Solanaceae (Potato family).
During the rainy season, this weed plant brings lucrative star shaped bright white flowers with yellow filaments at middle. Immediately after the rain, this weed flower looks prettier than ever. An yellow/red small fruits use to come at the plant which we used eat while playing around at our childhood.
The whole plant is armed with massive number of thorns. Even the leafs are covered with thorns. Leafs are complex in structure. Most of the cases this weed plant grows as a bush.
