Creeping Daisy - Wedelia trilobata

ছোট ছোট হলুদ রঙের এই ফুলকে অফিস যাবার সময় রাস্তার পাশে প্রতিদিন দেখি... এই ফুলের বাংলা কোনো নাম জানি না... এক সাথে অনেক ফুল ফোটে... আর যেহেতু এইটা আগাছা জাতের একটা উদ্ভিদ, তাই যেখানে হয়, সমস্ত জায়গা একদম দখল করে নিয়ে বসে থাকে... কেউ এই ফুলের সম্পর্কে জেনে থাকলে নীচে মন্তব্য আকারে জানাও...



Common name of the flower is Creeping Daisy, Wedelia, etc. It is a fast growing ground covering perennial weed flowering plant. Botanical name of this is Wedelia trilobata. It pertains to the plant family Asteraceae (daisy family). This is native to South America, West Indies, etc places.



Wedelia is an evergreen creeping weed. Most interesting part of this plant is it's attractive yellow flower. Flowers are showy and almost look like a daisy flower. These are small in size, around an inch of diameter. Yellow petals are having toothed(3) at the edge.



Leafs of this plant are fleshy and having three lobed. These are found around the stem as a whirl and oppositely arranged. This weed mainly spreads from the roots.



Though its a weed plant, some people using this plant at their gardens. Also it has several medicinal uses against cold and flu.
