Scarlet Milkweed is also known as Blood Flower, Mexical Butterfly Weed, etc. This is native to American region, not to our territory. Botanical name of this flower is Asclepias curassavica from the plant family Asclepiadaceae (Milkweed family).

Scarlet Milkweed is the best flowering species from milkweed family. This is popular for it's butterfly attracting attributes. This flower is a total source of food for butterflies. I have seen this flower first at Gazipur(গাজীপুর) butterfly park.

This plant can grow up to 3/4 ft in height. Leafs are oppositely arranged around the pale green stems. Its a perennial flowering plant and sap produces from the plant when torn or broken.

Flowers bloom as a cluster and very much showy. Color of the flower is red, orange, yellow etc. Seeds are having hairy stuffs which allow it to afloat over the air and help it's dispersal.

A butterfly is suckling nectar from the flower.
