দুই বছর আগে যখন বান্দরবান গেলাম ট্রেকিং করতে, তখন এই ফুল দেখেছিলাম জঙ্গলের ভেতরে... আলো কম থাকায় ফুলের ছবি অনেক ঝাপসা এসেছিলো... আদা গোত্রের এই বাংলা কোনো ফুলের নাম জানি না... যেহেতু জংলী ফুল, তাই একে সহজে জংলী আদা বলাই যায়... এইবার খাগড়াছড়ি বেড়াতে যেয়ে পাহাড়ে আবার এই ফুলের দেখা পেয়ে গেলাম... সেই ছবি আজকে লেখায় দিলাম...



Golden star is a wild ginger flower. It belongs to the plant family Zingiberaceae. Botanical name is Etlingera littoralis. This plant is native to China and it's vicinity countries at East Asia. But its available at the Jungles of our Hilly areas. I didn't find any suitable name in Bengali(বাংলা).



This is a wild ginger flower and it has the exactly similar attributes of spice ginger. Plants almost similar having leafs(large) at the both side of the pinnate. Its flower blooms in damp condition. Flowers basically come at the shoots, slightly far from the main plant. Color of the flower is red/maroon having a golden/yellow border. It often forms like a star, that's why it is called as golden star flower.



People use this plant in several culinary purposes. Using as spice is very common. Also tribal from some region use to eat the flower. Using the stems, it is possible to ripe the fruit quickly.
